The premise
What Guru is
What Guru is
-
You play.
Guru listens.Pick up your guitar and play the exercise or song in front of you. Guru hears every note: the pitch, the timing and how cleanly it rings.
-
It watches
the guitar too.Prop your phone up and Guru follows the guitar on camera as well as the sound. Feedback is tied to where you actually played, not a vague "try again".
-
You see
what to fix. After every attempt, Guru shows you what went well and the one thing to work on next. No wall of red marks. Just the next step.
-
You actually
get better.Short daily sessions, a path that adapts to you, and progress you can see. The encouragement of a great teacher, every time you practise.
A real practice loop
One attempt.
One fix.
Go again.
Practising with Guru feels like a lesson, not a quiz. Play an attempt, get one clear note back, play it again. The feedback is about the take you just played, not a generic video.

Every guitarist starts somewhere.
From your first three chords to your first full song. Guru meets you where you are and moves at your pace, whether you are picking up a guitar for the first time or finally getting past the barre chord.

Questions
Good to
know.
What is Guru?
Guru is an AI guitar tutor app for your phone. Play a take and it listens to the sound and watches your hands on camera, then gives you feedback on timing, pitch and technique, plus the one thing to practise next. It is built for anyone who wants to learn guitar at home, from complete beginners to players getting back into it.
When does Guru open?
We are aiming to open to the public in early 2027. People on the waitlist hear first, and our testing rounds are drawn from the same list.
What will it cost?
Guru will be free to start, with a Premium plan for deeper feedback. Our founding member offer gives the first 1,000 paid members 25% off for their first six months.
Do I need any extra equipment?
No. Just your guitar and your phone. No pickups, cables or special hardware.
Who is it for?
Beginner and intermediate guitarists. Whether you are starting from zero or picking up the guitar that has been sitting in a cupboard, Guru starts where you are.
Does it replace a guitar teacher?
Think of Guru as a practice companion that is there every time you play: between lessons if you have a teacher, and a guide if you do not.
